The Brown Mom Experience

A motherhood journey that experiences faith and wellness

Motherhood is a journey unlike no other! It will test your faith and challenge your thoughts on wellness. It can mature on the job and reflect your deepest fears. No one said being mom was easy, I just never believed them. Here I will always be 100% transparent, honest, and open about my struggles and victories. My mission is to help Mothers feel less alone in their journey and bring light to aspects of motherhood that are often hidden!

What is Planning? | Planning 101 with Alicia

Alicia Briggs is a stay at home mom, women mental health advocate, and motivational speaker. She began the Brown Mom Experience in 2016. Her hope is to bring transparency to women’s mental health and inspire mothers that may need encouragement. She shares her mother journey, her depression and anxiety experience, birth experiences, victories, mishaps’ and everything in-between!

Alicia is a mother of 4, a wife, a Christian, and a survivor of post-partum depression, anxiety, uterine rupture, and suicide. Her objective is to bring awareness of depression and mental illness in the women’s health and minority community, minimize the stigma that follows with assistance or counseling, share the good news of Jesus Christ and Christianity, and share a love of planning and things planner like. She also hopes to bring a platform of peace to women and mothers everywhere, share tips, share experiences, and be transparent in the daily struggles of womanhood and motherhood.

The Brown Mom Experience is the documented journey through the eyes of a woman of color living in America. Its purpose is to encourage women, share God's love, and normalize mental health for women.
Mental Health is health! The fact that it's separated shows problems with how it is perceived. Care of the brain and how it functions is just as important as the heart, lungs, kidneys, or any other organ. The function of our bodies starts with the brain. It is one of the first organs formed after conception, and its well being is of the utmost importance.
